I have a new laptop and my google account is on two other devices no trouble whatsoever, however when I go into my new computer and try and set up my email account it automatically goes through the settings once I put my details in and then when it appears there is a lock at the side of the icon next to my email account. The port details are the same as what are on my other two devices, so I am at a loss to know why I am locked out. I am using "pop" because I want my emails on my computer. My gmail account was set up ages ago and configed to send emails to my Thunderbird account so they appear on my computer, and those settings have not changed, so why does it work fine with my old laptop and my desk top and yet I am unable to set it up on my new acer laptop with windows 10? I have spent about three hours trying to sort this out. i thought it would be simple. I have checked the settings and they appear the same. According to several websites if I have a lock next to the icon then the settings are wrong for that account and yet the setting were downloaded automatically by Thunderbird. I would appreciate some help please as two of the other accounts I am trying to set up are having the same problem. Many thanks.
