Those are the details ... I am using Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 8.1 and just bought a Windows 10 laptop .. it happens on EVERY machine (and I have Fire Fox as my browser on every machine and on all my Android devices -- it doesn't happen on Android) Thanks .. I have been a Mozilla supporter, but I just got a gig that will allow e tobe a monthly contributer.. Firefox and Mozilla are the only way to go... I am gradually going open source, but am still stuck with the Windows and and Android platforms.

What is the URL of your "homepage"? Sounds like you may have Google search as your homepage in Firefox.

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-to-set-the-home-page#w_restore-the-default-home-page In Options > General - see what the Home Page is set to. Also you can use the Restore to Default to get the about;home homepage that Firefox uses as its default.
