firefox 29.01 pages not loading, reboot or reinstall required to make it work again
Have this problem for some time now and cannot find any solution for it.
After working great for quite some time, webpages couldnt be loaded anymore. After reboot of my pc (win 8.1) Firefox will work sometimes but sometime reinstall is needed. Firefox will then work for as long i dont close Firefox, when i close and open it again webpages cannot be loaded anymore and i need to reboot o reinstall Firefox again but its not a permanent solution.
Steps i have taken so far: - reset Firefox settings: did not solve the problem - disable and remove add-ons: did not solve the problem - disable firewall: did not solve the problem - try Internet Explorer and Chrome: webpages load fine with these - reboot: works sometimes but closing and reopening will give this error again - reinstall: see above - scan for mallware, viruses using mallwarebyte, tdskiller and bitdefender: no problems found
- Clean install of my system with win 8.1 (+ all updates first), using bitdefender as firewall and virusscanner, installed all software and games i use, finally installed latest version of Firefox: Worked for a week and now the problem is back again. Tried resetting, reinstall, reboot etc again but with same outcome. I could try a system restore from after clean install but i fear the problem with Firefox will come back soon.
If you need any logs, please let me know. Hope this can be resolved.
With Kind regards,

Some problems occurs when your Internet security program was set to trust the
previous version of Firefox, but no longer recognizes your updated version as
trusted. Now how to fix the problem: To allow Firefox to connect to the Internet
again:
- Make sure your Internet security software is up-to-date (i.e. you are running the latest version)
- Remove Firefox from your program's list of trusted or recognized programs, then add it back. For detailed instructions, see Configure firewalls so that Firefox can access the Internet.

Thanks for the reply FredMcd
Solution 1 did not do the trick for me.
Using solution 2 i found a problem with bitdefender, removing and adding firefox did not do the trick but a repair of bitdefender did it. Firefox started working immediately.
