Firefox doesn't run ActiveX controls. Years ago, an ActiveX plugin was created for Firefox 1.5, but it creates problems in later versions, so please don't install it if you find it.

I'm no sure why this comes up when accessing your work PC. You may want to check with your IT on how they access work PCs using Firefox in case you need a plugin or some settings changes.
