History list is different depending on how what is selected, today, yesterday, 7 days,etc...Why?

I was looking through my history to check what time I left work on a certain day because I forgot to log off. I selected the previous month (February), and found the date(3-2-15) looked up the last history log and it was 2:40. I then realized I had to find another time later in the week, and navigating is easier with less to navigate so I selected 7 days. When I did this many more history logs showed up for 3-2, up to 3:41. WTF? Why does history not show the correct history under different tabs?

Also Is there anything like an add-on that I can use to keep a correct complete history?
