In case of finding browsing history please follow these steps:

1. Press Alt (The menu bar will appear)
2. Click on History
3. Click on Show all History

Now regarding the Yahoo search bar, you can change it to Google or any other that you want. To do so follow these steps:

1. Click on the '+' sign in the search bar (if you are using Firefox v.35)
2. Click on Change Search Setting
3. Select your default search engine

Report us back if this works.

You may customise Firefox and drag of the searchbar off if you do not need it. The search bar is fairly redundant and possibly will be depreated at some future date. You may also search from the location bar and newtab pages for example.
