Can't open PDF or DOC through File Manager

Although File Manager shows option 'Open' for PDF files, it doesn't work. Tapping on 'Open' causes the screen to blink once and nothing else happens. In case of DOC file, it shows the thumbnail for DOC but doesn't show any option to open it. Is it possible to open PDF and DOC files through File Manager. If not, what app can I use for this purpose?

Thanks. Although that app didn't work for me. It just kept loading. Guess that's hardware's fault.
