Can't close top tab with CLOSE command

My mouse is programmed so clicking the mouse wheel is the "CLOSE" command. It closes the ACTIVE TAB in IE, Chrome, Opera, and in Firefox 3.6 and earlier. But in Firefox 4, it close Firefox! I just want it to close the active tab. Any fix for this?
