I got a popup at the bottom of the screen asking me to renew firefox for a like-new experience. Is this a message from Mozilla, or a gateway to hacking?
Running mac os 10.6.8., firefox 25.01. Unfortunately I already clicked the button and did the "renewal". It seemed to delete all of the customization I did on firefox [my add ons and the tabs I had open].
If this was not a message from Mozilla and I created a security vulnerability, do you have any suggestions on how I fix it? Thanks.

If Firefox is dragging, it may suggest a Reset. This process creates a new folder on your desktop named Old Firefox Data. Do you see that one?

It also now is forgetting my tabs when I restart the computer.
Hello,
In order to better assist you with your issue please provide us with a screenshot. If you need help to create a screenshot, please see How do I create a screenshot of my problem?
Once you've done this, attach the saved screenshot file to your forum post by clicking the Browse... button below the Post your reply box. This will help us to visualize the problem.
Thank you!
Sorry, I don't have a screenshot as the "Renew" popup disappeared once I clicked on it.
Does it occur when you restart (close and open again) firefox?
You may also need to disable a addon.

To change your startup options to restore the windows and tabs from your previous session go to:
Firefox menu > Preferences > General
Thank you both. I am glad to see that it is a normal procedure.
