I just changed my windows user (disabled the old user) and after changing enabled back to original user, all my Firefosx settings+Bookmarks+History is gone!!!!
I checked & there is only 1 "default" profile, there are no auto backups of the bookmarks (other than today's), History is also only today's. Somehow changing the USER on my machine to administrator & then back to User again, some files & settings are misplaced or deleted. I have used file-recovery software & recovered all files that were deleted & saved them in a partition in case I can use it.
Please help me recover my Bookmarks & History. Thanks A MILLION !!!!

Can you find any other folders under Firefox\Profiles in your recovered files or a backup? Note that the folders occur in pairs, and the one under Local Settings is just the browser cache; you want the other one.
Dear jscher2000 I found 8 profile files in recovered files (mostly the same name but different contents) but seem to be incomplete (only 1 seem to have a "places.sqlite" file which was too small, smaller than the current almost empty bkmrks+history one). I can't really tell if they are any good or not. I tried to attach the folder so u can see the files & tell me if they're any good & what I should do with them, but apparently I need an email address to send to. PLEASE HELP, thx a million. I'll try your website too, otherwise please tell me how I can send the files. thx again.

Hi Saghafi, I got your email, and I do not see any files that look like a fully running installation of Firefox. It appears the file recovery did not recover the right directories or the files are scrambled around in different locations. Assuming you have the recovered files on searchable media, can you find anything in other locations by looking for either of the following:
places.sqlite bookmarks-2013*.json
Please ignore any files found in the Cache folders.
