Hi all,

I wish to back-up my book marks.

But the HTML file extention.

The purpose is to burn to disk.

Also the proper extension would allow me to reinstall the bookmarks... so that they appear properly in the bookmarks pull-down menu tab.

I have done this before with Windows 2000 several years ago and it worked.(apparently)

Now I have windows 7 and wish to do it again

Many thanks

bookmarks.html is the universal bookmarks file type for exporting and importing bookmarks, and makes for the best type of backup in almost every case. Plus, that file can be viewed in any browser as a "local" web page. You can import bookmarks/favorites saved in that format into any modern browser, including Firefox. That file type is the only "standard" used by almost every web browser ever made, no other "class" of user data (bookmarks - passwords, history, site preferences, etc) has a universal file interchange standard.

The only downside to the bookmarks.html file type is that it doesn't save the Firefox Tags data, the JSON bookmarks backup file does that.
