Being a coder for 50+ years and using Firefox as my default browser for current pc's I also use Firefox 2.0.20 for my older pc's and it has worked with no problem. Dealing with older systems I wondered why you have made it impossible to access now

Access what? BTW, I use Firefox v54 as my default.

The very ancient and vulnerable Firefox 2.0.0.20 (Fx 2.0 in October 24, 2006 and Fx 2.0.0.20 in December 18, 2008) was the last to still run on Win98 as Fx 3.0 required Windows 2000 or later to run at time.
I would be surprised if many current websites still used/displayed ok, let alone sites that are https://
Depending on the old hardware you have, there might be some light 32-bit Linux distros that could allow you to use much more current Firefox versions like Fx 52.9.0esr

May as well use the more secure Fx 52.9.0esr if you must use a old version.
I didn't like what they were doing to the browser, so I just stopped updating it. Notice all the reported problems that have been posted here since.
