For me, updating the browser is acceptable only after restarting the computer. And generally I'm happy with the current version.

It is very disturbing and annoying, the browser can be accidentally updated when it is unnecessary.

You are VERY out of date. Firefox 57 was released nearly a year ago. Please install Firefox 63, you are vulnerable to many known and published security vulnerabilities.

if you're worried about your extensions, any extensions that work in Firefox 57 will work in 63.

Please update ASAP. Update Firefox to the latest release

I don't need to update firefox!

You do actually. You're on 57, which means you are vulnerable to all the security issues at https://www.mozilla.org/security/known-vulnerabilities/firefox/ from 58 on. It's VERY important that you keep Firefox up to date

Are you poorly reading what it is about in the subject?

I repeat once again. I'm not interested in any security features.

Why not? The security holes fixed in new versions are security issues that can allow someone to take control of your computer no matter what protection you have. There are no major interface changes between Firefox 57 and 63, but you will unlock greater speed, more security, and new web features. There's no reason to not update, and plenty to update.

Either way, you need to update. It takes 30 seconds, you install the update, restart Firefox, and you're good to go.

You had no reasons against updating. If you think you should restart your computer after updating (there's no reason you need to, but you can do that if you want to) then update, then restart your computer. The internet will thank you

What's your concern with updating?

What's your concern with updating?

It suits me that the browser is always running.

At one time I turned off the updates, because they happened very often and at the wrong time. Since everything is working now, updates are not interesting to me.

Turning off updates is not a good idea, because it leaves you vulnerable. I know you say you want the browser always running, but in the time that you've spent arguing here, you could have updates and restarted Firefox 10 times. All your tabs will re-open, just do the update, it takes 30 seconds, and you can go back on your way.

How many times do I repeat the same thing?

This thread is going nowhere, so I'm going to lock it. Please update to Firefox 63 or later. Thank you!
