Stop Firefox loading multiple tabs in the background on opening
When i open firefox, multiple tabs (about 80-90) all reload at once. i want to stop this, it did not happen before i upgraded to the latest version. i just want them to load when clicked on. i can't find a way to change this as the help says what i want is the default setting - not for me.... Many thanks in advance

What is in those unwanted tabs/windows?
Type about:config<enter> in the address bar. If a warning screen comes up, press the Be Careful button. At the top of the screen is a search bar. Type browser.startup.homepage
What is the value? Right-click and select Reset to restore its default value; about:home
Here's where you can double-check that setting:
(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button promising to be careful.
(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste sess and pause while the list is filtered
(3) If the browser.sessionstore.restore_on_demand preference is bolded and "modified" or "user set" to false, double-click it to restore the default value of true
There's also a preference called browser.sessionstore.restore_tabs_lazily which might be related (the name doesn't ring a bell).
