The problem I have with Thunderbird is on my other computer (both Win 7 64 bit systems) which I haven't been able to resolve. I have 3 different email accounts that I loaded on both computers without any problem. However, on my other computer, I have to right click my mouse on the folder I want to switch to and click on the link to open up a new window to go from one folder to another. I downloaded Microsoft web browser (ver 11) on my computer again because someone mentioned that the web browser might be affecting Thunderbird, but this didn't help. I tried the "fix" option on all folders, but that hasn't worked either. I'm at my wits end... Help!

Thanks a lot! I changed my Thunderbird to start without any add-ons and everything works well now. Before doing what you suggested, I had spent over 3 hours on this and just went around in circles without being able to cure the problem.
