Firefox crashes
firefox crashes on startup, and the crash report opens. it started by randomly crashing on some web sites, apparently sites with Flash. later, it started crashing on startup, every time. I tried a fresh profile, starting in safe mode, uninstall and install, to no avail. the machine is a developer machine, with tons of dev tools from Microsoft - various components of various versions of SQL Server, Visual C++ redistributables, Visual Studio, and of course .NET Framework.

Disable / update Websense
Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox. Is the problem still there?
While still in Safe Mode,
In the address bar, type about:crashes<enter>. Note: If any reports do not have BP in front of the numbers/letters, click it to submit them.
The crash report is several pages of data. We need the report numbers to see the whole report.
Using your mouse, mark the most resent 7 - 10 crash reports, and copy them. Now go to the reply box below and paste them in.
I can't open firefox in safe mode. it crashes immediately. I can't do anything with WebSense. it's company policy to use it, and they officially do not support firefox, so I doubt if IT will do anything about it. but i'll try anyway.
Contact your people and tell them about the problem. WebSense may still need an update.
I talked to our IT. they say they have the latest version, both on client machines (my station for instance) and the server. they also don't intend to open a support request with WebSense, because they don't support Firefox. so either Mozilla can fix it on their side, or they should contact WebSense and work it out with them.

This is possibly a problem with "Websense Endpoint" software. You can try to disable or uninstall this software for now until there is an update that addresses this issue, so check for such an update. You can contact Websense for support.
