Firefox has been uninstalled, reinstalled, old Firefox items restored and the browser does not function so that I can read my email or use interactive sites.

When I use Opera, my backup browser, my web pages, my email looks normal, I can see all parts of the pages and interact with the parts of the page. In Firefox, the pages look like something from 1989 and are near impossible to use - I am talking about the same sites.

Can provide a more complete description of what you did to Firefox? Especially about the "old Firefox items restored" thing. And what was wrong before you uninstalled Firefox?

I do not know how to explain what I did because I went step by step and followed directions per Mozilla. As for the look of the pages - they are not formatted but remind me of pages from very old school as far as lack of graphics & simplistic appearance. This was why I restored the olf FireFox items - to no avail!

Are these the directions that you followed? https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/refresh-firefox-reset-add-ons-and-settings

So, you did a "Refresh"? And then restored the Old Firefox Data folder that the "Refresh" placed on the desktop after reinstalling Firefox?

If that is what you did, is sounds to me like you un-did the Refresh by restoring what might have been causing whatever problem that you were trying to fix.

You are very likely correct, but the directions were about as clear as mud to me. The link that you show is the one that I used because the browser was still a mess after doing the 'Refresh' step. I did restart the computer after the refresh did not do the trick by shutting down and restarting. I have opted to remove Firefox until I get an answer that I can use. I am using Google Chrome (which I don't care for, too invasive) as my backup to Opera.

Your description of the appearance of pages sounds as if you disabled stylesheets. If you look in View > Use Style, which item is checked? Make sure "None" is not the selected item.

I did that, but it did not make a difference in the appearance of the pages.
