some sort of virus or mail were or what ever called uslc.search-help.net or paetec search has infected my phone and hijacked Firefox so every time i try to search it gets redirected to paetec search, i can't find a way to remove it on an android phone though there are web pages that detail how to get rid of it if it's gotten into your PC. needless to say i can no longer use Firefox with out having this paetec thing pop up when i try to search. any help would be great as i really liked the Firefox mobile app and would have to have to find an alternative.

Is it an add-on?? You can manage your Firefox for Android add-ons from the application's menu. Depending on your device, it's a button on the device or the 3-dot-stack icon next to the address bar.

menu > Add-ons

If it's external to Firefox, please try security software from the Google Play store such as:

  • Lookout
  • Trend Micro Mobile Security & Antivirus

Some 'bad' programs hide and re-install themselves.

==============================

Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.

You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:

Microsoft Security Essentials is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP if you don't already have one.

Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.
