My Toshiba Portege LOVES to go to sleep while run Firefox--and does NOT like to wake up
Difficult to do a Carbonite back up, because the Toshiba must be constantly touched/keyed so that it doesn't sleep--and it sleeps heavily.
Can Firefox just say "OK, I'll run in the background, you can take a nap"? When I force the laptop to wake up (NOT such an easy thing to do), Firefox will pick up where it left off in the back up.
But I wanted it to get the freakin back up done while I do something crazy like take a bathroom break. Maybe there's a software "switch" that could readily put an end to my hair-pulling?!
Laptop: Toshiba R835-P50, Windows 7 Home Premium, 4 G Memory, Comcast cable box Internet.Tried to open and reset the sleep utility onboard. M

It's simpler to just change the sleep setting in the power options to never whenever you want to do the backup or set it to a longer time if you're not going to be away for long.
