when trying to login to hotmail, I get message asking me to select program to read default.apsx file, i.e. firefox will no longer open hotmail; ; this just started yesterday
I can't login to hotmail and read my email because after filling in the login and password it now states it needs to open the default.aspx file from http://sn120w.snt120.mail.live.com and asks me what program to use to open the default.aspx file.

Hotmail is rolling out a server change at their end which might be causing this problem. Mozilla has spoken to them about it and they are trying to fix it. I won't be able to provide you a time estimate by when it will be solved but hotmail/mozilla is certainly looking at this issue.
