a site is trying to install a plugin that firefox has blocked. I do not want to allow the install but the warning that pops up in the browser only gives me the "allow" option. I "x" out the warning and visit another page and the warning populates again.

I found this plugin unexpectedly installed & activated after having numerous problems with Firefox over the last several days, including CPU spiking and a nefarious looking Temp file in my trash: plugin-crossdomain.xml (and no, I haven't visited any pron sites).

Yes, it's probably a common plugin, but I suspect there's something else going on. Is it possible this plugin has been compromised or is otherwise vulnerable to exploit?
