We are unable to receive emails. When a box pops asking us to retry or change password our input does not work. What are we doing wrong?

Q: What OS do you use eg: Windows10, MAC etc ? Q: What version of Thunderbird are you using?

Q: Do you use POP or IMAP mail accounts? Q: Are you using a gmail server ? Q: If no then what server?

Q: Can you logon to webmail account using a browser to see emails?

Please note that passwords can only be setup/modified etc via webmail accounts and Thunderbird will use the one you set up to use.

You can update the password in Thunderbird to be the same as the the one you use to access webmail here:

  • 'Menu icon' > 'Options' > 'Options' > security' > 'Passwrds' tab
  • click on 'Saved Passwords'
  • click on 'Show Passwords'

If password is wrong...

  • right click on mailbox/imap/smtp lines that are relevant to the mail account and select 'Edit Password'
  • remove bad password and type correct password.
  • click on 'Close'
  • click on 'OK'

Please post info: In Thunderbird
