Although I have been a Firefox user for over 10 years, I have been struggling, and I mean STRUGGLING, with Windows Live Mail and all it's resource problems (continually recovering databases) because I couldn't find an alternative to WLM that had folder support. I recently read that Hotmail was now using IMAP and hey presto, I am now in the process of waiting for Thunderbird to finish retrieving my considerable folder information.

I have three questions, but may I request that, as far as possible, any replies you kind souls give me, please could you give me some sort of positional navigation, such as 'top right next to the Display Thunderbird Menu button'. I do use vision, but my screen is greatly magnified, so I don't see all the screen at the same time, plus, even with the magnififcation my vision is not good.

1. How do I seach within a single folder, such as just in the 'Inbox' or in one of my other personal folders?

2. All my junk mail from hotmail is going into a corresponding 'Junk' folder in Thunderbird. The problem is, unlike the 'Inbox', 'Sent', 'Draft', and 'Deleted' folders, my 'Junk' folder is positioned all the way down my folder list, alphabetically, under J. I'd like this up at the top as it one of my frequenstly used folders.

3. Some of the background colours, such as on the Tabs, are a little on the bright side for me, and I'd like to darken the shade a little. Is there a way of easily doing this?

I would like to thank anyone in advance of any help they give!

PS The Thunderbird version is 31.5.0 and I'm on Windows 7. I use Windows Colour Scheme 'High Contrast Black'

Click on the folder and then on the quick search icon on the toolbar. type your search and ensure the correct fields are selected (they appear after you type)

This add-on will help there https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/manually-sort-folders/?src=ss

try a complete theme. Tools menu (alt+T) > add-ons. Select get add-ons on the left Scroll to the bottom and select see all complete themes on the right bottom.
