For some days the right side from the content area of my firefox ends after a fix width. Not the content itself - the whole area. How can I solve this problem without resetting my preferences?

Have you installed any new addons since then?

I would disable all your addons and enable them one at a time. Make sure to restart Firefox after each one you enable. Then test for the problem after each one you turn on. That way you can narrow it down to what addon might be causing this.

To disable all your addons:
Firefox button > Help > Restart with Add-ons disabled
(or Help > Restart with Add-ons disabled)

If I had to guess I think it's Tree Style Tab or G+ Whitespace Remover. But it could be another addon is conflicting with Tree Style Tab and causing this issue.

Update:
G+ Whitespace Remover was the problem. Disable it via
Tools > Add-ons > Extensions

Yep, you are right - it was an extension - the G+ Whitespace Remover. Thank you for that!

Ah! I had a gut feeling it was that one! But I thought it only activated on Google+ pages so I didn't mention it. Guess now we know. :D And you're welcome. :)
