PDF Vista files do not open with Firefox 8.0?

I am trying to open .pdf files using PDF Vista, which I assume is an updated version of Acrobat Reader (???). I try to do this both from various websites and through my own personal e-mail accounts ... in all cases, I get the message that says "The selected document cannot be opened."

PDF Vista isn't the same as Adobe Reader. It's like the opposite of a "reader", it creates a PDF file through the print function in Windows.
