I'm trying to import favourites from Explorer but on the File menu the Import option is not available

I found an article on importing favourites from Explorer. It said press Alt, (which I did but couldn't see anything happening) and then from the File menut, click on Import. However, the Import selection is not available.

You're not running in the Private Browsing mode are you?


Try doing it this way, IMO it works better overall.
In IE:
File > Import/Export - Export to HTML file

then in Firefox:
Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks -> Import & Backup - Import HTML... = From HTML file

if you are unable to see click "import" from menu tab to import bookmark from other browser, in bookmark tab ( Alt B), go to organise bookmark ( Shift+Ctrl+B), on top of the newly pop up tab, click "Import and backup" and click Import HTML, then in Import bookmark from, choose the browser you want to import the bookmark from...hope this help.
