Why do my file uploads consistently crash at about 82mb?

I'm a film maker and have been having problems uploading my work. File size 1.37 GB, 39.33 min movie, 640x480, but I consistently keep getting a error, after the file is at about 60ish%, that says "Server error. The connection has been reset". What are the file size limits for upload on firefox 5? Is there a way for you to accelerate firefox? Is it possible for you to accommodate media makers who might be uploading larger file sizes?
