firefox 3.6.3 is not working on my laptop after my niece was trying to watch a video it does not work and i can not uninstall it

The first time i had switched on the computer after they had watched the movie the computer was having problems logging on. When eventually managed to switch it on I could not log on to Fire Fox the only route to the internet was through Internet Explorer. I could not access certain files like Adobe, Real player, Quick time player. If I tried to uninstall Fire Fox it is not possible.
