I know I "can" install multiple addons at once, but is it a good practice? In the past when I did so, it seemed like doing so sometimes left me with browser instability,

I guess it could have been a result of one buggy addon , or maybe it was my imagination, but building a profile would be so much easier and less time consuming if you could.

I'm sure some addons could leave behind remnants, but is there a method or an addon itself that would insure a complete addon uninstall?

There should be no problem installing multiple add-ons at once. If you had issues in the past, it was probably caused by a faulty add-on or two add-ons conflicting with each other.

When an add-on is removed, it should delete the add-on entirely. The only thing that I've seen get left behind in some circumstances is some saved data (settings, etc). It's not stuff that be executed, just data that the add-on had saved.

There are methods to manually remove previously save extension data. However, I believe the risk of damaging something is likely far greater than the benefit of actually removing the data.

Hope this answers your questions.
