This problem has been bugging me for ages. I've now finally got round to posting here for a solution!! I'm running the 64-bit version of Firefox 64.0 on Windows 10 Pro 64-bit.

When I browse the news site https://www.stuff.co.nz/ and click on any article with embedded videos (& possibly "large images" as well), they do not show. An example of this is https://www.stuff.co.nz/business/world/109725873/apples-stark-warning-may-be-ominous-news-for-china. All I see below the "Gerry Shih <time, date, facebook etc icons>" line is a large white space, with the next bit of text below that starting "ANALYSIS: For most of the past two decades ....". The "most popular" section down the right edge is present. If you open the page in IE or Edge, the video shows (may take a couple of extra seconds to show after the page is shown, but it does appear).

If I disable *all* addons and restart firefox it still does not show. But if I start Firefox in safe mode, the video shows. Hence I suspect there is a setting in my firefox options or "about:config" that is causing it. However, I have been unable to figure out what might be that causing this and how to 'fix" it.

Does someone know what option/s or setting/s will be causing the videos to not show unless I start firefox in safe mode?

Could it be Tracking Protection, a component of Content Blocking that blocks items from a list of tracking sites? Look for a shield icon toward the left end of the address bar. I have attached a screenshot comparison, "before and after" turning off Tracking Protection on the page in a private window.

Note that the Web Console shows more detail about what content is blocked by Firefox Content Blocking.

There are content blocking extensions that use a block list similar to Content Blocking.

If you use extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) that can block (wanted) content (Adblock Plus, NoScript, Disconnect, Ghostery, Privacy Badger, uBlock Origin) always make sure such extensions do not block (wanted) content.

Thanks to both for the replies. I disabled content blocking for stuff.co.nz website so I'm now able to see that missing content.
