I just updated to version 63.0.1 and Firefox has stopped working. The home page doesn't load and I get an "Unexpected response from server" error when trying to load any website. Other browsers are working fine, it just seems to be Firefox that stopped working after the update. I have tried the following steps already to troubleshoot the issue, none of them worked:

-Restarting Firefox in Safe Mode -Refreshing Firefox -Removing and adding back Firefox in my firewall -Updating my antivirus -Temporarily disabling my antivirus and firewall

None of them have worked. I also cannot find any useful information on how to check if the Personal Security Manager is installed.

Please help.

Hi, try reinstalling Firefox from https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/

If that doesn't work, or if you prefer something a little more thorough, try a Clean Reinstall; this means you remove your Firefox program files and then reinstall Firefox. This process does not remove your Firefox profile data (such as bookmarks and passwords), since that information is stored in a different location. With Firefox closed, use another browser to download Firefox from https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/ and save the file to somewhere convenient on your computer.

Now delete the Firefox installation folder which should be in one of the following locations -

Windows: C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox

Mac: Delete Firefox from the Applications folder.

You can now double click the file you previously downloaded to install Firefox.

If your question is resolved by this or another answer, please take a minute to let us know. Thank you!
