Hello - While updating my Mozilla browser yesterday the below link appeared and downloaded to my PC and the C prompt appeared with a progress monitor that went right to 100% then closed. Since then when I run the Microsoft Malware and Anti Virus protection a message now appears that my PC might have have malware or a potential virus but non are ever identified upon the scan completing. It does appear the scan (Both quick and full) are taking longer than prior to this download. Below is the link that appears in my download history. Any suggestions? Just trying to prevent my nice laptop from being ruined.

hi, this update notice was a scam tactic trying to trick you into installing malware. please never or download or execute this kind of stuff just because of a popup or redirect on a website! updates are handled automatically by firefox so you don't have to download anything for that (and you can always initiate a manual check for updates in the firefox menu ≡ > help ? > about firefox). we suspect this is coming form "malvertising" (=ads placed on legitimate websites that redirect you to this fraudulent message), so using an adblocking addon like https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/ublock-origin/ would also help with that.

I found a fake Firefox update

next to the security software already in place, please run a scan with various other security tools like the free version of malwarebytes, adwcleaner & eset online one-time scanner.
