When using Firefox in Windows 10 Microsoft Edge and Internet Explorer appear to be activated and create a number of files automatically. Why does this happen?

I and other users on our pc use CCleaner after every session. It helps remove unwanted files and keeps the system tidy.

We all use Firefox as our default browser and there are no problems. After some updates to Windows 10 we usually have to confirm that Firefox is our default because there is an obvious push towards Microsoft Edge.

After every session there are files which CCleaner flags up that have been created by Edge and Explorer despite not engaging either of these browsers. I'd like to know why this is happening.

I'd also like to know if this is breaching my privacy settings in any way even if collecting site data for analysis.

If there is no problem to this unwanted activity, then that's fine. If it's best to stop it, then I would like to know how.

Hello Potterstoke

I have exactly the same behavior, in my xp for years now ! Firefox default browser, Explorer is closed for over 10 years, and CCleaner always removes Explorer files when scanning. And i understand that because Explorer is bond with xp systems. Now in Win 10.... maybe something similar......i don't known that, but firefox has nothing to do with that for sure. :-)

Using Opera and Pale Moon also, same behavior.

thank you
