A square at the right side of computer alerted me to updates available...Mozilla was one.. I selected it and it seemed like it didnt know I already had mozilla,, said ready to install mozilla. Anyway now my Norton doesnt work and I spent like 80 bucks every year since I got it.

That sounds suspicious, especially because you now have Firefox 27, which is several months old now.

Could you try installing Firefox 30 from here:

https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/ (scroll down to your language)

Check whether you can re-enable Norton on the Add-ons page. Either:

  • Ctrl+Shift+a
  • "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons

In the left column, click Extensions. On the right side, scroll down to the disabled extensions (gray background) and see whether you can enable the Norton Toolbar.

Any luck?
