I can change my start page but it come back to "search.us.com" How can i make stick to what i want?

I down loaded Open Office. The next time I went to open mozilla I had a different start page. I try going to tools.options and resetting it an that did reset it for that time but next time the rogue start page was back. then I deleted the Open Office and looked for anything else that might do that and I did not find anything.

The first step is to uninstall the US Search or Search US software through the Windows control panel. It also might have a name like browser assistant or another vaguely browser or search related name. Any luck?

After that, you can resume cleaning up your Firefox settings.

I did find the search.us in the control panel but removing doesnot seem to help. I went to the tools>options and changed to yahoo but it didnot help.
