Hello. My question is simple. Why don't you provide a simple way to find what version I am running? I tried to follow your instructions - which seem easy, but I still could not find it. When I went further, I got this message, even though you say Firefox is updated automatically: Warning: You're using an insecure version of Firefox. To keep your computer and personal information safe, please update to the latest version of Firefox. That is paradoxical, you must admit. Thanks and Regards Allan 909 P.S. There is not a set reply in 'This happened' below; please let the person tel you!! It is so irritating, because I am entering the wrong answer!!

If there are problems with updating then best is to download the full version and uninstall the currently installed version.

Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.

  • Uninstall your current Firefox version.
  • Do not remove personal data when you uninstall the current version.

Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.

  • It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.

Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere in the Firefox Profile Folder and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.

Thanks for your reply.

Unfortunately I am not as expert as you seem to suggest with your reply. Removing one version and making sure not to remove some files while leaving others is far too complex for most users. Firefox should not be that difficult to maintain. But you did not answer the question about automatic upgrades! Why don't I get them on XP? I appreciate your help, but I feel that Firefox should be responsibility for answering there customer queries, not it's customers. Best Regards Allan
