i have a hp computer laptop and all a sudden my screen has went dark the only way u can tell its even on is to put lamp over it and still after that its hard to see at all what do i do to brighten my screen back up? and what caused it to do this?

You either have turned down the brightness of your screen or you have a hardware failure with the backlight of your display.
