Why don't icons load on tabs, ex: ebay - amazon - etc

I have added several tabs on the toolbar for quick access to Gmail, Amazon, eBay ,AOL, etc and the logo (icons) don't appear. I just get what looks like a globe. I would like for all of the tabs to display the icon to identify that tab. How do I correct this?
