Whever i use firefox and flash it lags like there is no tomorrow.

I've tried numerous fixes but to no avail (Downgrading flash, downgrading firefox, disabling protected mode, disabling hardware acceleration) but nothing works.

UPDATE: The problem does not occur in Internet Explorer and Google Chrome

Is this only happening with the Shockwave Flash plugin or is Firefox slow in general?

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problem.

See "Creating a profile":

If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a previously used profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over problems.

You can try to uninstall the current Flash player version and (re)install the latest Flash version.
