Hi Folks,

My Thunderbird has turned into a feather-less pigeon in the last few days.

It will not open at all most of the time. If I restart the PC (Windows 7), it will start sometimes.

Even if started, the only way I can see the the contents of any folder is to right click and 'Open in a new Tab'. Then I can see the contents but cannot reply to anything.

The 'Get new Messages' tab works, but nothing else on the Toolbar works at all. Help does not work.

I have used MozBackup to, hopefully, back up everything.

May I ask if there is any repair I can do or should I just re-install and rely on Mozbackup to recover and re-install all the stuff?

Thank you.

Ian

Install program only touchs the program, not your data. So, over existing program.

A restore will not help.

1. Start THunderbird in safe mode https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/safe-mode 2. Please tell us - in tools | addons | extensions, is calendar addon enabled?? 3. remove the addon, restart 4. do you need the calendar addon. If you do reinstall it (it should work. It's just that something in the prepackaged Thunderbird+calendar failed)

All better?

Thank you for the suggestion but while I can open the Help menu nothing then works.

Exactly the same problem when I try to do it in Tools - I can get the menu then nothing.

Should I uninstall then restore now?

Do you mean: Install over existing installation or Clean install and restore from MozBackup?
