when replying to an e-mail will lock up and have to cold boot to get anything. very annorying as I have written a full reply and lock up loose it all

I receive e-mail and when I want to reply to them I run into the problem of it locking up especially when using spell check and I have to completly log off which looses all I have written in the Reply. Let me add that I am only medium computer user and the other problem with this is that my curser will jump when I am typeing and I am in the middle of another sentence.

What is your anti-virus software?

I use Ubuntu It is my understanding that I do not have to have an anti virus software.
