videos from the web are playing faster than they should--audio is double speed. I'm updated, checked plug-ins for newest versions and reset Firefox. ???

A few weeks ago I found all my videos playing too fast. Live TV, Hulu, and DVDs appear to do the same thing. I've checked all my updates, reset Firefox, downloaded a Win 7 codec bundle, checked for infections, tried Win 7 repair disk. Nothing works. Any suggestions short of reinstalling Win 7 will be appreciated. My devices all report working correctly.

Try to boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test.
