More a Concern or Desire than a question.

Very common these days (2023) are device types - PCs, Cell Phones, etc. Firefox browser is available to (my main interest) Windows PCs and Android Cell Phone. Then their OS, versions, etc. All have many differences so establishing these differences in the beginning of questios and explainations are critical to the assumptions going forward in support.

The moz://a Support (most support forums) overlook this vital step before delving down into the myriad of complex and different option settings and discussions. I'm no professional but am confident that instruction details are likely very specific to the different device/OS, versions, Platforms, etc. That said I am very frustrated to the lack of a definite starting point for research as most if not all that information is useless to ones specific needs.

Hope you can take this to Hart and consider adjusting the Top Level Titles and/or providing Option Filters to better guide users to their specific needs.

A little different but related, in the old DOS days the c:\\ path format was a very useful practice to provide an orientation of where you are logically. It even accommodates a backward or higher level logic projection up into the internet or devices. I'm only amateur in the full understanding but am fairly certain of its existence. These no nonsense logical establishments go a long way in understanding & conveying complex theory. STANDARDS.

Thank you. Rod

From the Moz://a Support Triple Bar Menu/Get Help: Ask a Question I select Firefox Browser

It would be clearer if that said "Firefox Browser for Desktop" (or "Firefox for Window/Mac/Linux") since "Firefox for iOS" and "Firefox for Android" are lower down on the list and it isn't obvious that you need to select a different entry to get to the desired forum.

Could also help the Mac users who don't realize that their Macs do not run iOS...

Hi Rod

When you ask a question on the forum, the forum will direct your question based on the version of Firefox you are using. We can also see (at a very high level) the type of device and Firefox version that you have installed to help us to answer your question.

I hope that this helps.

Thanks Paul, but why do I see help for windows PC settings when I'm wanting and initiating with my Android cell phone.

Plus, showing a title string of the Top Level Parameters assures users they are seeing results for that perspective. As well it helps teach those string parameter names providing further understanding of the frequently changing technologies. Further to resolve into useful Standards.

When you run a search on this site, do you have a column on the right to "Filter by Product" -- or is that column missing from the mobile layout?

jscher2000,

From the Moz://a Support Triple Bar Menu/Get Help: Ask a Question I select Firefox Browser

then a settings indicator shows Change Product (✓), Explore Solutions, Get Support

from there under Firefox Solutions & under "Still Need Help" I choose "Ask Now"

taking me to the

"Ask You Question" level there's the: "Subject" and "Which topic best describes your question?" Drop Down and finally the " How Can We Help" message box is presented.

So to answer your question, I do not see more "Filter by Product"

For a Search, Well I'm not starting at the Search level. I can't think of a term for the need that I would think you would have for a result for a Top Level Organization String. Like I said, this is more a Comment and/or Suggestion.

The Search provides a "Search Support" field and under twhathat appears to be the similar selectors (filters?) as stated like above.

Thanks, Rod
