whenever I try to stream tv on demand firefox causes my internet connection to crash. No problems at all with Chrome

I have just started using Firefox. I like to watch catch-up tv over the net and have been doing it for years using Chrome. When I try to watch programmes using Firefox, the programmes start and then the internet connection drops out. If I go back to Chrome I have no problems at all. Any suggestions gratefully received.
