WebRTC doesn't work when Video or Sound is not present

We're making a website with WebRTC that uses rooms for people to talk to each other. We want this service to be available to people who only have mic and sound or for some reason don't want to share video (or sound). We're using the framework EasyRTC (www.easyrtc.com).

With Firefox we're experiencing some problems. Firefox doesn't connect when someone only has video or sound, all are in the room (we have a written chat which works) but the Firefox-user can't hear or see the person who only shares sound or video. If the user only sharing sound or video is using Chrome, that user can hear and/or see the Firefox-user (!). We confirmed this on our own site, tawk.com and appear.in.

This might already be known to mozilla:

It seems that more and more websites using WebRTC are popping up (tawk.com, appear.in, vline.com to name a few). Would be a shame if people couldn't use Firefox for these purposes...

Hope to see this fixed soon! Or perhaps there is some kind of workaround?
