I want to open PDF files in Acrobat Reader as it does in Explorer and earlier in Firefox. There is a support message about this issue but it is not applicable to me (wrong version?) When I go to Tools I can chose Plug in modules but there is no entry PDF. There is an entry Acrobat Reader but when I press Settings there is nothing to change.

My basic problem is that I can not save PDF-files as PDF when the are read inte Firefox.

(I have no idea whether the trobleshooting info below is correct, I used the automatic feature)

hello gunnar, you can change that in the firefox/tools > options > applications menu - for more details please refer to View PDF files in Firefox or choose another viewer

You can change the action for Portable Document Format (PDF) from Preview in Firefox to use the Adobe Reader or set to Always Ask in "Firefox > Options/Preferences > Applications".

You can set the pdfjs.disabled pref to true on the about:config page to disable the build-in PDF viewer.

You can also check the value of the plugin.disable_full_page_plugin_for_types pref and remove the application/pdf part if present.
