can you upgrade your browser to Firefox 10 and check? your crash maybe fixed on Firefox 10!

XP SP2 has been dead for a long time. Now it is completely dead.

You do not receive updates to patch the vulnerabilities that make frequent, reoccurring front-page screaming headline news.

Activate Windows and install XP SP3 now.

Installing your favorite security application on a system that does not have all Windows security updates is like going to sleep in a house in a bad neighborhood and leaving the windows open and the back door open and the front door open, and then putting a gun under your pillow.

Instead, please close the windows and close the front and back doors first.

Swarnava, lareinanoor said he had to restore to 4 days ago (i.e. back to 9) to get Firefox to work, so the crash is clearly related to Firefox 10.

lareinanoor: we know of one new topcrash in Firefox 10 on windows which is related to having dormant malware on your system. If you can follow the steps to get your crash report and give me your crash ID, I can tell you if this looks like the same issue:

Go to Help > Troubleshooting info and click the about:crashes link. A page listing submitted crash reports will appear.

Right-click on the latest crash under Report ID and choose Open Link in New Tab. A tab will open to a page on crash-stats.mozilla.com, saying that "Your report is being processed". When it is finished processing, reply here with the URL of that page.

Edit: Didn't realize that you had done this. See comments below.

Your crash report indicates a problem with Trusteer Rapport (RapportTanzan9.dll).

You can try to stop Trusteer Rapport if installing the latest version doesn't help.

Start Menu > Programs > Trusteer Rapport > Stop Rapport

lareinanoor: A windows system restore breaks Firefox because it doesn't restore Firefox files completely. You need to delete the C:/Program Files/Mozilla Firefox folder and install Firefox 10 again.

I'd actually suspect Trusteer in the Firefox 10 slowness problem, so try disabling it anyway.
