Uninstall the Ask Toolbar. It can cause that problem.

You may need to update some plug-ins. Check your plug-ins and update as necessary:

CTRL+T won't open any new tabs...

Get rid of the "Ask Toolbar" extension, if you have it. It is crapware that gets installed, if you're not very careful, along with something you wanted to install.

It appears that you do from your User Agent included with your question. It could have been installed when updating some free software from the internet if you did not un-check the option to install it.
