Hi jimgettman,
What xulcache problem are you having?

No-one at Mozilla decided secret extensions are good and that user control is bad. In fact, Mozilla is working on making sure users don't have extensions they didn't know about. Here's a blog post with screenshots on the work that's being done. http://blog.mozilla.com/addons/2011/08/11/strengthening-user-control-of-add-ons/
You should see it in a November update. :)

Hi Chris; Malware is hijacking links on my Google search results. My PC Tools Browser Defender toolbar stopped working with the Firefox 6 release. I can clear the problem by uninstalling FF6, deleting everything *xulcache* and *firefox*, installing FF5, then configuring FF5 to not do automatic updates. Then my kids upgrade, and the problem soon returns. This is a real headache, as I have 3 PCs. And lots of Mozilla folks must think add-ons and extensions and such are cool, because FF keeps adding more ways to get users clobbered by that junk.
