Hi, I have a very strange problem with Firefox and cant seem to find any answer for it anyware. The problem is this, i usually use proxy at work and use the "Automaic proxy configuration URL" option. So far all good. The problem occurs when i get home and change the proxy option to "No Proxy". At this point i can not use Firefox at all! All i get is "The connection has timed out". It seems Firefox dont tries or connect to internet (right left corner is just stuch at "Connecting to ...."). Using IE i dont experience the same problem. It just work right away when i remove he proxy option. So why doesnt Firefox refuses to work without proxy just puzzles me.

Not sure what else detail i can give really, let me know if you need anything to determine the problem please.

Did you check your security software (firewall)?

Hi,

I dont have a firewall (sort of). We do have Symantec Endpoint protection but i'm unable to change any settings in that but looking around i dont find anything in particular i can change which could help with this problem. Also the fact that IE works without any changes is a bit strange. Although i know Symantec does some crazy stuff that cause problem which is why i avoid it on my own computers. Is there perhaps a way to determine the problem in other way perhaps? Thanks for any tips.

Sorry for late response. I think this problem was caused by some company security stuff, not sure exactly what it is but other browsers dont work neither so its not Firefox specific atlease. Thanks for the response cor-el.
